North Carolina artist Jim Brown studied art at East Carolina University where
he received a BFA in Communications Art. Jim worked as an illustration studio
artist after college and later accepted an offer to enter advertising. The following
six years Jim gained experience working as an art director for Scali, McCabe,
Sloves/South of Atlanta , Georgia and Price/McNabb of Raleigh, North Carolina.
His passion for art, however, never left him. At the advice of his wife and a good
friend, Jim entered the world of freelance illustration, a move that would span
twenty years to the present. Most of Jim’s work is commissioned by advertising
